Reconstructive breast surgery or breast reconstruction
This form of surgery is intended for the reconstruction of one or both breasts after total or partial amputation (mastectomy or tumorectomy-quadrantectomy). There are several possible techniques which may be employed, using either implants or the patient’s natural tissue (DIEP or TRAM surgery).
